Description

Change management is a specialist process. Many good ideas and new ways of working are never implemented because management fail to understand the change-management process. Change can be very frightening for some people and they resist even the smallest changes. On the other hand many people welcome change - so long as they understand it and see the benefits it can bring them as individuals. Without change we die as our competitiors move forward in a flexible and customer-focused way. Key topics include: The benefits of innovation and change for the organisation Identifying the barriers to change and innovation in the workplace Practical ways of overcoming barriers Communication in successful implementation Human and financial effects of change on people, departments and the organisation Course Aims, Length and Entry Aims: The course is designed to help people to understand how change should be managed. It helps managers to understand why people resist change and what they can do to convince people that change is very positive for them and the organisation - provided they feel that control is not taken out of their hands. Duration: It runs for one and a half days. Entry: The Institute of Leadership and Management ILM operates an ‘Open Entry’ policy but prospective participants should be able to apply what they learn on the course in an organisational setting (need not be in a job). Certification: There are no examination with participants instead completing assignments which are assessed. On successful completion of the assignments participants receive their Certificate from the ILM.
