This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to provide excellent care for older people in a variety of settings. Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to demonstrate good work practices while providing individualised holistic care for older people and understand fully the concept of the ageing process.
They will also be able to meet the needs of older people in a variety of care settings and enhance the quality of life of the older person, and themselves as carers. This course is designed for carers working with older people and those who are planning a career in a health or social care environment and related areas and who are looking for a practical skills-based course.
The course is also suitable for family members caring for elderly relatives in their own home. FAS Funding; Applicants in receipt of a social welfare allowance may receive funding from FAS for some short-term courses at Atlantic College |
