The aim of this programme is to educate the student in Biomedical Sciences including the 'state-of-the-art' technologies used in hospitals and research laboratories. Biomedical Sciences include education and training in areas such as Haematology and Transfusion Science, Clinical Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology and Cellular Pathology and prepares the student for a career in laboratory medicine and related areas in the health-care industry and biopharmaceutical industry.
The honours degree course is offered jointly by Cork Institute of Technology and University College Cork.
