The programme is four years in duration, and is organised into well defined streams in the following subject areas:
* Education
* Manufacturing Technology
* Technical Graphics
* Design
* Electronics and Information Technologies
* Materials and Engineering Sciences
The subject matter has been carefully selected to be relevant to the requirements of the emerging Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate syllabi in the Technology subjects. Learning outcomes have been defined for all new modules in the programme.
An element of design is incorporated throughout with increasing emphasis on design based activities and independent learning as the course progresses. Pedagogy is incorporated into all of the relevant (PN and EY/EN coded) modules as appropriate.
