The BA in History, Politics, Sociology and Social Studies (HPSS) is a four-year multidisciplinary programme, three years on campus at UL and one year on work placement and study abroad. The programme is carefully crafted to expose the student to a wide subject choice in first year. There is no compulsory subject. In second year s(he) then focuses on two or three subjects. Through these subjects the school-leaver or mature student may explore the social structure of contemporary societies, to examine their historical development and to analyse their political systems. The programme fosters a thorough understanding of these subjects and allows students to develop analytical and practical skills in these areas. Consistent with the University's expressed mission the HPSS degree provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in a wide range of employment opportunities. |
