We encourage all our students to experience the landscapes and sites of the ancient world by travelling in the Mediterranean, either independently or on organized study tours; for example, our students regularly participate in the Irish Institute of Hellenic Studies at Athens trips to mainland Greece and to Crete. We also help our students to find placements on archaeological excavations.
You can choose from the following degree programmes, depending on your particular interests. If you are interested primarily in studying ancient Greek or Latin language and literature (either as a beginner or more advanced student) we offer a full single honours degree in Classics, or you can combine either Greek or Latin with another Arts subject (joint honours - known in Trinity as a Two Subject Moderatorship/TSM). You may prefer to learn about the classical world through reading its literature in translation (Classical Civilisation) or by specialising in the history and archaeology of the Mediterranean world (Ancient History and Archaeology). |
